In the beautiful located, quiet hamlet of Tamargada is the country house »Las Palmeras« - on about 250 m above sea level, surrounded by terraced vineyards, just a few houses and nature pure - a wonderful place to relax in the countryside and to find peace and quiet. From the large terrace which is equipped with a barbecue, table, comfortable chairs and a sofa, you can also enjoy wide views over the valley of Tamargada down to the sea.
From here one reaches into the House and directly in the large living room with kitchen - plenty of natural light through the large panorama window, warm and comfortable. The partially uncovered stone walls in almost all rooms create a special flair. The kitchen is fully equipped, the directly adjacent living room has a comfortable sofa, which can be used as a sofa bed. Radiators provide warmth on cold days. Those looking for entertainment, there is a i TV (spanish) and WiFi. The two bedrooms are furnished with very good mattresses and both have a spacious wardrobe, the natural stone walls seem almost like paintings. The spacious bathroom has a bath shower with massage jets.
Other special features of the house are the Bodega (Wine cellar) with the original wine cooler in the old stone walls, a stone water filter! So no need to buy water, but you can, as in the past, filter the tap water through the stone vessel and then get perfect, clean and tasty water. The House belongs to the Association for sustainable tourism and is awarded with four stars.
The Casa rural Las Palmeras offers a relaxing, natural stay in an authentic environment. In the summer months you can bathing down on the beach of Vallehermoso, the beaches of Valle Gran Rey are only about 45 minutes away. The hiking trails are directly at your feet and the village centre of Vallehermoso with its beautiful Plaza, Cafés, restaurants and shops is just 3 km away.
We recommend a car for this holiday destination and would be happy to send you a non-binding offer for a rental car on La Gomera.
The "Casa Rural Las Palmeras" is located in the small hamlet of Tamargada, which belongs to the regions of Vallehermoso. From the main road TF-1 from San Sebastian to Vallehermoso one reaches the hamlet. Parking is directly in front of the house.
The house is in front of a row of four houses which are behind it and do not disturb in any manner. In front of, and next to the house, there’s a wide valley and what you will see is nature pure and a view out to sea.
Here you’ll find pure peace! You can listen to nature. Depending on how the wind is blowing, you can still hear the sea!!
The small chapel “Ermita de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre”, with a square and isolated houses, belongs to the village where only a few people live all year round. Most of the houses are used by the locals as their own holiday homes, some of them are also rented out to tourists. The only agricultural activity found here is the cultivation of grapes - a few terraces provide delicious island wine, which is pressed in the Bodega Insular de Vallehermoso.
But it’s also only a 45min drive to the south west of the island or to the capital of San Sebatian - so you can combine the hiking holiday with beach days and shopping trips.
Urban life in Vallehermoso happens almost exclusively around the ‘plaza’, the village square. Here you will find the Town Hall, the post office, the Health Centre, several cafes, bars and restaurants as well as the supermarkets and the taxi stand.
